Volunteer with Us!

Your time can change a life — one animal, one family, one moment at a time.
The Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter (FJCAS) runs entirely on the dedication and compassion of volunteers.
Every foster home, every spay/neuter appointment, every bag of pet food delivered, every rescued animal — it all happens because people like you step forward.
When you volunteer with FJCAS, you join a team of caring, hardworking neighbors who are building a safer, kinder future for Jackson County’s animals and families.
More hands make lighter work. We’d love to have you with us!

Volunteering Opportunities with FJCAS
THERE ARE QUITE A FEW! Volunteer roles range from hands-on animal support to administrative, "behind the scenes" support. Some roles help with our existing programs and other roles are planning ahead for the coming animal shelter. Whether you can spare just a few hours a month or want to be "all in," your time, skills and compassion are truly needed - and we're excited to welcome you.
The slides below describe the many roles of volunteers working with us now - plus some roles we'll need to fill in the near future, as the shelter build continues. Please reach out with any questions, we'd love to talk with you about volunteering!
