Spay/Neuter - For So Many Reasons
Spayed and neutered dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives. Research shows that neutered male dogs live about 18% longer and spayed female dogs 23% longer, while spayed female cats can live up to 39% longer.
Reproductive cancers are eliminated, and injuries and infections from fighting and roaming greatly decrease.

HOW TO SCHEDULE A DISCOUNTED SPAY/NEUTER FOR YOUR PET

The FJCAS/Ann Hart Spay/Neuter Program
FJCAS works with the Major Mike Shipley Spay & Neuter Clinic to offer spay and neuter for Jackson County, TN dogs and cats for a deeply discounted fee - in most cases, just $50 per pet. This fee includes a veterinary examination, heartworm and fecal test, rabies/annual vaccinations and a microchip if desired.

Making Spay/Neuter Affordable
For many owners, the biggest hurdle to spaying or neutering their pets is the cost. This program is here to support pet owners who are going through a difficult time and cannot comfortably afford spay or neuter services. Through this program, the cost is $50 per pet, which includes the spay or neuter procedure, rabies and annual vaccines, and microchip if desired.
This program is possible thanks to the generous donations of animal lovers like you. Won't you consider making a donation today? Together, we can make a real impact on our community's animal welfare!

Requesting Spay/Neuter is Easy
The fastest way to schedule spay or neuter for your pet is to fill out our online form. There's one for for dogs and one for cats. You'll find links to both of these forms on this page of our Website if you scroll down.
If you prefer to email or call us, we'll need the following info:
- Cat/dog/kitten/puppy?- - Age, weight, sex?
- Current on vaccinations/rabies? (If current on rabies, we will need a copy of the rabies certificate.)
- Microchip needed/wanted?
Your pet must be under 6 years old and dogs weigh less than 75 lbs. If your dog or cat doesn't meet the age or weight requirements, their procedure may need to be performed at a different vet facility and additional fees may be assessed. If this situation is applicable to your pet, we'll discuss all of this in advance with you before scheduling.

What If My Dog is Anxious or Aggressive?
If your dog is anxious (and might be aggressive due to fear), the clinic can provide medication and special scheduling to help alleviate your pet's anxiety. So please do tell us in advance if you anticipate these issues.
If your dog is genuinely dangerous to handle, the clinic may not be able to schedule them. If you have this situation, please tell us in advance so we can talk it through with you and try to figure out a solution.

About Payments and Fees
Spay/neuter fees must be paid before we can schedule your procedure. We apologize for any inconvenience but unfortunately, both the clinics and FJCAS have had problems in the past with unpaid fees.
You can make a secure payment online when submitting your form, or may mail a check to FJCAS. If you need to pay cash, please tell us and we'll arrange to meet you to pick up the payment.
IF YOUR PET IS IN NEED OF SPAY/NEUTER AND YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE FEE, PLEASE E-MAIL OR CALL US. We have in-need sponsorships available for times like these. We are here to help!
